Nest® works with Caséta Wireless

Posted by Jimm Reifsnyder

May 4, 2017 2:15:52 PM

Western is pleased to announce the addition of Nest Thermostat to our product line. Nest offers three key wireless products: the Nest Learning Thermostat (climate control), Nest Protect (smoke & carbon monoxide alarm) and Nest Cam Indoor and Nest Cam Outdoor (security cameras).

Nest works seamlessly with Caséta Wireless. The Nest lineup can be added to the Caséta App to control climate, alarms, and video security. When considering an entry-level system to control lighting, shades, climate, alarms, and more, look no further than Caséta Wireless as a turn-key solution.

nest-thermostat.png

The Lutron App for Caséta Wireless allows remote control of lighting and shades. By adding the Nest Learning Thermostat, remote control now includes climate.

nest-alarm.png

Nest Protect™ Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm: If the Nest Protect™ alarm detects smoke or carbon monoxide (CO), Caséta Wireless can automatically turn on lights and open shades, to light the path to safety. With lights and shades activated, emergency personnel have a clearer path in.

nest-cameras.png

Nest Home/Away and Caséta can automatically adjust the lights, shades, and temperature whether the house is occupied or not. Nest Cam includes motion detection, and through the Caséta App can turn lights on to make the house appear occupied.

Getting Started with Caséta and Nest is easy: Begin with the Caséta Dimmer Kit which includes Smart Bridge (for wall and ceiling lights), remote and one dimmer. Install the Caséta Wireless system and connect it to a wi-fi router.

The Nest products are installed next, and also connected to the wi-fi router. Finally, the Nest products are added to the Lutron app when detected on the network.

Western Introduces NEST to the product line

Posted by Jimm Reifsnyder

Apr 12, 2017 1:51:52 PM

nest_logo.pngWestern Lighting & Energy Controls has just announced the addition of Nest Thermostat to the product line.

As the most recognized brand in the "Smart-Home" industry, Nest learning thermostat is a natural product for any electrical contractor focusing on residential and light commercial applications. The third gen Nest Learning Thermostat is more beautiful than ever, with a thinner, sleeker design and bigger, crisper display. And it’s proven to help save energy. In independent studies, the Nest Thermostat saved an average of 10-12% on heating bills and 15% on cooling bills.

Additionally, Nest is a natural add-on product to the Lutron's Caseta Wireless product which allows users to interface and control Nest thermostat, lighting, window shades, and more. Contractors will find that adding Nest to a project results in a higher satisfaction level for clients. Installing the PRO version of Nest also has an added benefit of a 5 year warranty; 3 years longer than the warranty found at local big box retailers.

How does NEST work?

  • Auto-Schedule No more confusing programming. It learns the temperatures you like and programs itself.
  • Remote control Connect the Nest Thermostat to Wi-Fi to change the temperature from your phone, tablet or laptop.
  • Nest Leaf You’ll see the Leaf when you choose a temperature that saves energy. It guides you in the right direction.
  • Early-on Nest learns how your home warms up and keeps an eye on the weather to get you the temperature you want when you want it.
  • Auto-Away The Nest Thermostat automatically turns itself down when you’re away to avoid heating or cooling an empty home.
  • Energy History See when heating and cooling were on and what affected your energy use.
  • Safety Alerts Get an alert on your phone or tablet if your home gets dangerously hot or cold.
  • Farsight When Nest Thermostat spots you across the room, it lights up beautifully to show you the temperature you’ve set or the time.
