When drafting the general plan for its city design, the city of Glendale needed to balance the city’s roots with the future needs of the community. When it came to upgrading the site lighting for the city hall, the low profile and sleek design of the Cree’s directional spotlighting was an optimal choice. The Cree C-Lite LED Directional Spotlight in black finish complimented the city hall’s 20 Century architecture and structural features, while providing state-of-the-art lighting efficiency range of options in a variety of stylish designs, Cree wall packs offer long lifetimes with reduced power consumption.

Additionally, the city incorporated the use of the Cree Area Edge Series (pictured), which is ideal for illuminating any open-space application including pathways, large common spaces, and parking lots. With a low-profile modular design, this aesthetically pleasing luminaire provides improved illumination performance while reducing energy consumption. The Area Edge Series provides significant energy and maintenance savings, which provides support to the historic structure.

LED has changed the way the world sees light. Inefficient, old-style incandescent and CFL bulbs are being phased out by a lighting technology that can deliver warm, traditional light or a cooler, more contemporary white light, all while using a fraction of the energy and with virtually zero environmental damage.

The Area Edge Series by Cree LED Lighting and the C-Lite LED Directional Spotlight blend seamlessly with any architectural style. In the case of Glendale City Hall, integrating new, efficient lighting gives Glendale City Hall a fresh and inviting look without compromising the original design.
