It was a perfect San Diego day as Western Lighting and Energy Controls hosted a five-star golf tournament at the renowned Torrey Pines Golf Course. With this year's Lightfair 2016 Convention taking place in San Diego, it was only natural for Western to host their first golf tournament. "We knew that many folks would come to the convention, but stay an extra day in order to play at the world-famous Torrey Pines Golf Course which sits atop the bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean." said Matt Sedlock, Principal at Western Lighting & Energy Controls. The tournament participants were comprised of 80 top professionals in the electrical industry; including lighting specifiers, electrical contractors, facility managers, and lighting and electrical manufacturers.
Several leading manufacturers contributed in the way of corporate sponsorship. "We'd like to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to our manufacturing partners including Lutron, CREE, AION LED, Atlantic Lighting, AV Poles & Lighting, H.E. Williams, Liteline, PMC Lighting, Schreder, LVS, and Axis Lighting." Said Sedlock. "We could not have done it without their partnerships.
Torrey Pines location is second-to-none with almost every hole touting amazing views overlooking the Pacific Ocean, which you cannot find at many other golf courses. The weather was a cool, yet sunny 72 degrees, perfect for playing a game of golf. Western's tournament was held on the South Course which is home to PGA Tournaments and U.S. Open Championships.
