Lutron Focuses on Home Technology for Every Level

Posted by Jimm Reifsnyder

Recently Crestron’s president and CEO Randy Klein stated that his company is going to abandon the residential market as well as the CEDIA show, siting "Crestron only wants to focus on the high-end fragment of the market."

Since Crestron only wants to be part of the high-end market: Where does that leave the residential market that they adamantly advertise to? Doesn't it call into question how the high-end clients will gain exposure for their products? Further, doesn't this decision to only go high-end and to not participate in the CEDIA shows alienate potential new installers?

This is where Lutron comes into play. Lutron is a technology-centered and people-driven company. Their light control products range from individual dimmers to total light management systems that control entire building complexes. Lutron caters to multiple audiences in the commercial and residential markets. The way Lutron cares for their customers and products reflects the five principles that they were built on; take care of the customer with superior goods and services, take care of the company, take care of the people, innovate with high quality, and deliver value to the customer.

Lutron has paved the way to provide many innovative lighting systems for every level of consumer. Caseta® Wireless is used in a more relaxed home setting. It allows you to control your lights from wherever you are. Anyone can use these systems to personalize scenes to control multiple lights and shades together with the touch of a button. HomeWorks® is used in a more high-end setting allowing luxury homeowners to bring in a sophisticated lighting system. The designer style controls can also enhance the décor and compliment the home. These technologies can be used in commercial or residential settings, once again showing that Lutron can service at every level.

Homeworks_overview_photo.jpgThe approach that Crestron takes is an exact opposite to the approach that Lutron takes. Lutron can help an entire market and at every level. They range from helping the every day, average homeowner to the high-end, luxury homeowner and then everything in between. Lutron is successful because of the company’s commitment to its customers. Since the beginning, the company has maintained exceptional service, offering 24-hour technical support for its products, and a friendly customer service department that sustains close relationships with Lutron clients. This is what sets Lutron apart from Crestron. Lutron is there to provide quality products to every market instead of just focusing on one.

ASD Lighting Offers Unique Products and Local Inventory

Posted by Matt Sedlock

The world of commercial LED lighting just got a lot better with ASD Lighting. Western Lighting and Energy Controls is proud to announce that ASD Lighting products will be available to all of Western's Southern California territories starting on February 26th. ASD Lighting has been one of the leading brands in commercial lighting in Eastern Europe since 1999. Since establishing themselves in the United States in 2014, there is no doubt that ASD Lighting will become a leading brand in the US as well. ASD provides a wide range of LED lighting fixtures for commercial applications for use in construction, offices, hospitals, schools, and industrial facilities. ASD's goal is to provide high quality products at affordable prices for consumers.

ASD Lighting's most popular products are the LED Edge-Lit Flat Panel and the LED Vapor Proof Fixture. These lighting options, like most of their products, are always in stock and roughly half the price of other leading competitors. The consumer will always be getting a high quality product without breaking the bank, which is a principle that ASD firmly stands by.

Edge_Lit_Panel_ASD.jpgThe LED Edge-Lit Panel is described as a modern lamp. The main advantages of the panel are that they require no maintenance, are energy efficient, and absent of hazardous materials. The LED Edge-Lit Panel is an ideal choice to reduce energy costs in work environments and in public places. They are widely used in offices, stores, schools, hospitals, and airports. These panels feature low energy consumption, long life, and sustainable light with no shadows or glaring. Most panel lights in commercial buildings are bulky, give off buzzing noises, and the quality of light they emit is very low. The LED Edge-Lit Panel has a sleek design that is only half of an inch thick and the quality of light is very comparable to what a skylight emits rather than the typical fluorescent lighting.

The Vapor Proof Fixtures are modern lighting fixtures that can be used in a wide variety of different environments. They are water resistant and perform very well in wet locations. They are commonly used in car washes, warehouses, parking garages, stairwells, pool areas, and any other places where moisture, dampness or dust is a concern. They are a great solution for any commercial application where weather or dust is an issue. TheVapor_Proof_Fixture_ASD.jpg Vapor Proof Fixtures are a great investment as they significantly reduce energy consumption and energy bills, saving you money. They are easy to install and can replace a typical fluorescent light fixture without any additional equipment. LED Vapor Proof Fixtures are made with a durable polycarbonate body. They do not lose color or luster over time and they are extremely easy to clean. LED Vapor Proof Fixtures are maintenance free and provide a high quality bright light without shadows. Its affordable price makes it the perfect solution for any home or business.

"ASD Lighting is constantly developing new products and improving their product range," said Matt Sedlock of Western Lighting & Energy Controls, "ASD strongly believes in excellent customer service and they are passionate about their products." With more than 15,000 LED lighting options, ASD provides a diverse selection of bulbs and lighting fixtures for residential and commercial use. By partnering with Western Lighting and Energy Controls, they are changing the game by providing best-in-class products that are in stock for quick delivery. Satisfaction at Volkswagon Pasadena

Posted by Jimm Reifsnyder

Great lighting for auto dealerships doesn't have to mean increased energy costs and maintenance.

Recently, Western Lighting and Energy Controls was part of a project where Cree LED lighting was used at Volkswagon Pasadena. After the installation of the lighting, the lot and showrooms once again became the main focus for customers. Volkswagon Pasadena held a car show this past month that showcased over 200 Volswagon vehicles, new and old, and over 400 people were in attendace. Since the event was held during the evening, people had no trouble viewing all the classic cars thanks to the recently installed Cree LED lighting.

Cree leads the LED lighting revolution and is making energy-wasting traditional lighting technologies obsolete through the use of energy-efficient, environmentally friendly LED lighting. By instaling energy-efficient Cree LED lighting at Volkswagon Pasadena, the company has a great opportunity to showcase lighting options that cut energy costs, are maintenance-free, and last longer than other lighting solutions.

A video of the event was taken by Volkswagon Pasadena via drone to showcase not only how successful the event was, but also how the Cree LED lighting illuminated the entire car lot.

Click on the picture below to watch the event and see how Cree LED lighting brought everything to life.

Lutron Introduces Sensor Selection Tool

Posted by Jimm Reifsnyder

Jan 13, 2016 10:17:37 AM

Many of our clients have successfully used the ballast selection tool by Lutron in order to find the ballast that best suits their project. Now Lutron has created a similar tool for selecting occupancy sensors which is sure to be a useful tool to the trade.

The Lutron "Sensor Selection Tool" is an easy-to-use selection tool that allows you to specify the application, connectivity, technology, and room size. Here's how the tool works.....

First click on the link to the Sensor Selection Tool and review the filters on the left side of the page.

Application: Whether your project requires occupancy sensor for ceiling, in-wall, outdoor, or other - the selection filters allow you to choose the application that suits your unique project.

Connectivity: Choose from either wired or wireless solutions. Lutron has several options in either category. See our blog post here entitled "A Sensor For Every Project" for detailed information on some of Lutron's most popular sensors.

Technology: Choose from Dual-technology, Passive Infrared (PIR), or Ultrasonic.

Room Size: Room size will dictate the sensor as well as other automation solutions for your project. Use the filter to select the room size of your project.

The Sensor Selection Tool is interactive and works in real time. As you choose the appropriate filters for your project, the tool will drill down until you have the options that fit your unique project. Just another tool to make your life as an electrical contractor, lighting designer, or electrical distributor just a little easier!

In case you missed it - below is the link to the Sensor Selection Tool. The tool can also be found on our Resources Page at www.Westernlightingandenergycontrols.com.
