They want to be able to check the system remotely via the Internet and receive voice or email alerts—or to notify parents when the children get home from school.
2. Energy Management: Today’s homeowners know that more than 50 percent of an average home’s energy usage comes from heating and air conditioning. And they know that an automated thermostat will let them schedule their thermostat settings for when they’re home—and when they’re not—so that they aren’t heating or cooling their home unnecessarily. And they don’t want to wonder if they left their lights on. They want a system that will turn lights off automatically after they leave the house/
3. Entertainment: Families increasingly want to be able to control all of their A/V equipment and the rest of your home's sub-systems from a single remote, iPhone, or wireless tablet. And it’s not just TV and audio they want to control. They want to be able to press a single button to lower the screen, dim the lights, close the shades, activate the security system, and initiate A/V components.
