This article is first in a series of 3 articles outlining Cree Lighting Applications in Southern California.
Built in 1917, San Antonio Winery in Downtown Los Angeles is the last remaining winery in the area. As a historical landmark in Southern California for 100 years, it was important to the folks at Western Lighting & Energy Controls to assist in specifying the appropriate product solution for the outdoor site lighting.
Because San Antonio Winery is located in California, any appropriate solution would need to comply with the building energy efficiency standards set forth in Title 24. These measures are designed to ensure new and existing buildings achieve energy efficiency and preserve outdoor and indoor environmental quality.
Cree’s OSQ Area Luminaire turned out to be a perfect solution for San Antonio Winery. The OSQ luminaire blends extreme optical control advanced thermal management and modern clean aesthetics. Built to last, the housing is rugged cast aluminum with an integral weathertight LED driver compartment. Versatile mounting configurations offer simple installation. Its slim low-profile design minimizes wind load requirements and blends seamlessly into the site, providing even quality illumination. Plus, delivering 62% more efficacy than the first generation, this product easily met Title 24 regulations. The result is better light with added architectural appeal.
Other Cree products used in this project were the LED Outdoor Wall Packs. Chosen for the building exterior, the Cree wall packs provide high performance, easy installation, backed by Cree quality. With a wide range of options in a variety of stylish designs, Cree wall packs offer long lifetimes with reduced power consumption.
San Antonio Winery outdoor site lighting will be a key component to taking this 100-year business into the future and beyond.
