  • Maintaining profitability by meeting sales targets and managing expenses
  • Identifying and securing new markets within your territory

Distribution Sales Person

Western Lighting & Energy Controls provides lighting and control products to electrical distributors in Southern California. We are looking for a new team member to be responsible for business development of distributor client relationships and sales functions in Los Angeles and Orange counties. Candidate will manage all aspects of sales process through the distribution channel.

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Developing cooperative working relationships with distributor customers, manufacturers, and inside sales personnel
  • Make consistent sales calls on assigned customer list
  • Work with Distributors and Contractors to solve lighting product & lighting control needs
  • Ensure quick and proper response to all reasonable customer requests
  • Understand all aspects of customer and sales service including order entry, returns, and quotations

Overview:

This position provides inside sales support in the Commercial Lighting Controls Division in our Costa Mesa office. You will be responsible for successfully supporting a project team to drive large scale commercial lighting projects towards profitability from take-off to job close out. A successful Project representative will work closely with outside sales, dealers/distributors, and installers to understand and communicate project details. You will also coordinate internally with operations, manufacturing, engineering, and remote service centers to ensure successful job completion.

Field Service Person

Southern California

Overview:

Western Lighting & Energy Controls is looking for a new team member to be a part of our Field Service team. This position provides installation and programming services of lighting control systems for electrical contractors, design-build contractors, and other lighting professionals in San Diego County, Orange County, Riverside County, and Los Angeles County.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (includes the following; other duties may be assigned):

  • Have extensive training in commercial and residential lighting and controls
  • Possess the skills and experience necessary to install and program lighting control systems including Lutron’s Vive and others.
  • Understand electrical codes for California to include Title 24.
  • Developing cooperative working relationships with customers, manufacturers, and outside sales personnel
  • Displaying good judgment while making critical decisions in a timely manner

Quotations - Commercial Sale

San Diego or Costa Mesa office, CA

Job Overview:

The Quotations – Commercial Sales position is responsible for handling our customer’s needs from receipt of a quote request to the time a quote is sent out to the customer. Communication with customers, engineers, contractors, and distributors to discuss projects is an important aspect of this role. This position requires strong problem solving, staying organized, having product knowledge, and gaining knowledge around upcoming products. As a member of the Western Lighting & Energy Controls team, you will be responsible for generating and maintaining profitable sales by providing excellent customer service, value-added service, and solutions to our new and existing customer base.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare competitive quotations, bid, and submittals
  • Quoting product prices, delivery specifications, payment terms, offering substitute products where applicable
  • Maintain organized and accurate files and folders
  • Constant follow up on quotations to assist in closing new business opportunities
  • Once quotes from reps are received, be able to enter data into the system
  • Must review quote for accuracy and completeness to ensure quotes are being sent with the intent of being profitable prior to send to customer
  • Educate, problem-solve, and provide support to customers regarding lighting products/issues
  • Cultivate & sustain vendor relationships
  • Ensure value-add service from the evaluation of existing blueprint to a recommendation of lighting solutions based on design specifications. Negotiate best possible cost from vendors
  • Maximize sales and profitability by knowing the marketplace and competition, negotiating the lowest possible cost from our vendors, and extracting the highest possible competitive selling price
  • Actively participate in all job-related training classes, informational seminars, business meetings, etc. that will enhance Western Lighting & Energy Controls’ position in the marketplace
  • Responding to ongoing/new issues with existing projects
  • Take incoming calls and/or emails for quote requests
  • Providing quotations based on plans
  • Providing submittals for quoted projects
  • Providing Project Management for sold projects
  • Assisting with the business of various sorts for colleagues out of the office
  • Project management ongoing/new, Quotations new/requotes

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

Experience

  • 1-2 years of quotation experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs: Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Experience in quotes is a plus

  • Reading plans
  • Translating plans into Lutron systems preferred
